This is a very attractive unit that you put next to your kitty litter pan. Every time you clean your litter pan, you just dump the clumps into the top. When it is full, it is very easy to take the plastic bag out and dump into the garbage. The refills stay in the unit so it is easy to start the next bag. The is a much easier method than moving the litter pan to clean it or bringing a bucket to the litter pan everytime you want to clean it. The odor is trapped inside.

It also encourages you to clean the pan more often since it is a lot less work. Every time I walk by and see clumps, I just pick them up with the scooper and put it into the Litter Genie. Before, I would just walk by and wait until there was a lot in there and do it all at once since it was so much work. This has kept the smell down in my house and the cat is happier to always have a clean litter pan.

From the manufacturer:

Litter Genie® is your nose-friendly, hassle-free cat litter disposal system.

The Litter Genie® Pail holds up to two weeks of cat litter (for one cat) and with the seven-layer refill bags, it helps lock stinky germs and odors away too. So, you can forget about those constant trips to the trash!

  1. I bought one of these for our upstairs bathroom, which has a litter box in it that doesn’t get the heavy use the one on our main floor does. It was the perfect solution for that bathroom, since our cats don’t use that box enough to really fill it up. However, I think I’d go broke on the bags for it if I put one in my main bathroom – especially as my Moko is currently drinking and peeing a lot from a medical issue. In time, I’d like to put one in that bathroom, but for now I just have the one for the upstairs box. Again, just love this product, but would point out it might not be the best solution for someone with multiple cats who use the litter box a LOT!
