Pine Brothers Softish Throat Drops

Relief At Last!

I received some samples of Pine Bros. Softish Throat Drops from the company several weeks ago. At that time I was healthy and did not need them so put off trying them.  I had used them in the past though. When I was very young, I remember my mother buying them when she had a cold or flu and she would give them to me. They have always been effective.  They have been in business since 1870!

Last week, my husband brought home a terrible cold or flu.  I don’t know which since I have the symptoms of both. He had it a few days and then gave it to me. I was coughing so bad I felt I was going to cough my guts up.  I could not sleep because I was coughing all night. Then I remembered my samples of Pine Bros., still unopened. As soon as I started letting one dissolve in my mouth, I felt instant relief.  I took them all night the following night. Every time I would wake up to cough, I popped one in my mouth.  They kept me from coughing all night and I finally got a decent night of sleep.  I have been taking them since and now I am feeling a lot better. When I started to take these, it was the turning point of getting rid of the flu and healing my throat.

I hate taking medicine so usually I just let colds and flu run their course without taking anything.  These are not medicine.  They are all natural, vegan, taste good and made in the USA.  From now on, I will always have some in the house.

They have just come out with two new products: Vitamin C Orange and Sugar Free Cherry.

Both of these taste great and do the job.  I like the Vitamin C Orange better because they have vitamin C which is an extra plus.  The Sugar Free Cherry is great for diabetics or anyone trying to limit their sugar intake.

History of Pine Bros:

Ulysses S. Grant was President and the population of America hovered at 39 million, when in 1870 J. Herman Pine hung out a confectionery shingle on 8th Street above Walnut in Philadelphia, and sold his first batch of what he called ‘Pine Brothers Glycerine Tablets.’ In an attempt to relieve his own sore throat, Mr. Pine, a former German confectionery maker, combined the soothing natural qualities of plant glycerin with the healing properties of gum acacia into one softish drop. By doing so, he discovered that he had created a product that could sooth and mitigate the mild discomfort of a sore throat. Add in some natural flavoring and sweetener and Pine Brothers Softish Throat Drops were born. “I have discovered something,” Pine wrote, “which will give quick throat relief to thousands afflicted as I was.” He added,”Perhaps I won’t make much money out of this. But I can make people happy, and that’s more important than money.” Mr. Pine was being unduly modest, as his “discovery” would become one of the most effective, most delicious and most unique throat lozenges in the world. Nor has the recipe changed appreciably since it was first introduced to the public over 140 years ago.
